In 1992, Seismic was founded by Dan Gesmer to engineer skateboarding trucks with a tighter turn radius and response. A graduate of Yale University, Gesmer named the company Seismic (to cause an earthquake or Earth vibration) because he wanted to "shake up" the skateboarding industry. Seismic created its first cruising wheel in the mid 90s to accommodate prototype trucks and deck. They began pouring wheels on a large scale in 2004. The wheel shapes and technology powered the 2006 World Slalom Champion and the 2007 IGSA #1 Ranked Downhill Racer. Today, Seismic sponsors 4 riders and engineers 12 different wheel styles.
