- Remove the bearings.
- Remove the rubber shield.
- Rinse the bearings in either isopropyl alcohol, mineral spirits, gasoline, or kerosene. Let them soak for a few hours.
- Dry them for about half an hour.
- Replace or change the rubber shield.
- Replace the bearings into the wheels.
